Mark Georgiev, Owner and Lead Physiotherapist joined Dr. Maddalena in 2009 to open Accelerated Health and Wellness Centre, creating the largest private Multidisciplanary Clinic in Niagara. Mark was born and raised in Fonthill, Ont. and is excited to have the opportunity to treat patients in his local community.
Mark studied Kinesiology and Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. During his time at Western, he was an avid Lacrosse player. After graduation, he continued his education at Brock University where he won the championship with the Brock men’s lacrosse team in 1999. Mark graduated from D’Youville College with his Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2001, and has had experience practicing in both the USA and Canada ever since.
Mark is certified in vestibular rehabilitation, assessing and treating a large volume of dizziness, balance and vertigo issues. He is also a Concussion Management practitioner.
He is trained in active release techniques, athletic taping, acupuncture, custom orthotics/bracing as well as sports injuries, whiplash disorders, and any spine or joint related pain.
Mark prides himself on making an accurate diagnosis and providing an effective and personalized treatment plan for each of his patients.
His philosophy is that the most effective approach when dealing with injuries is hands on treatment coupled with a specific exercise based program. He makes sure that all of his patients are treated in a professional, friendly environment with goal driven results.
When Mark's not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys, helping coach his son's lacrosse team and playing golf.
